Eugene Junior Orchestra
Eugene Junior Orchestra, a full symphonic ensemble, presents its own series of concerts and at the same time functions as a training group for the Eugene Youth Symphony. The group is conducted by Dana Demant. Most members of the EJO are in grades 6-10.
Junior Orchestra rehearsals are held Monday evenings at Roosevelt Middle School from 6:45 to 8:45 pm. The Junior Orchestra participation fee is $420. Assistance with the participation fee is available. Auditions are held annually in the spring and fall.
THIS YEAR ONLY! - - Arts Umbrella is pleased to announce a fantastic opportunity for students in our 2011-2012 orchestras and String Academies. In April of 2012, famed violinist, Midori Goto, visits Eugene as part of her Orchestra Residencies Program.. As a part of this visit, Midori will hold a Q&A session with students in Arts Umbrella orchestras, visit String Academy classes, hold rehearslas and sectionals with the Eugene Youth Symphony, and perform in a live Super Strings concert at the Hult Center with members of the Eugene Youth Symphony, the Douglas County Youth Orchestra, the Corvallis Youth Symphony, and the Eugene Symphony. This will be an exciting week and we are thrilled to be able to offer this opportunity to our 2011-2012 students!
